About RHEF

It started as an idea, a "what if".

What if there were a way to go beyond?
    ...to reward the forward thinkers?
    ...to try new things?
    ...to enhance educational opportunities for the
       R-H school community in a meaningful way?
    ...to step out of the box?

It started as wishful thinking; now it is a reality.

Mission and History

The Rush-Henrietta Education Foundation was founded in 2000. Our mission is to enhance and enrich educational opportunities for students and staff of the Rush-Henrietta Central School District through charitable giving. This is done by funding educational initiatives, programs, and projects that cannot be included in the annual school district budget.

Joe Bellanca,
RHEF Chairperson

Since its founding, RHEF has awarded over $30,000 in scholarships. We have funded over $75,000 for academic and extracurricular enrichment grants to all district schools, and have provided thousands of dollars in student and community assistance. RHEF contributed over $27,000 toward the purchase and installation of the steeplechase addition to the high school track, which will benefit the students of Rush-Henrietta for years to come.

Funding Objectives

The best possible education is the most important investment a community can make.  The Rush-Henrietta Education Foundation, in alliance with the school district and the community, will strive to encourage the development of initiatives to enhance and enrich the educational opportunities for the students and staff of today and tomorrow.  RHEF will support today’s and tomorrows’ best schools by:

  • Providing “venture capital” for promising new initiatives;
  • Forging school-community partnerships with other schools, universities, businesses and/or social services;
  • Expanding the knowledge assets of the faculty and staff;
  • Supporting technological innovation;
  • Maintaining support of current funding priorities.

Organization

The Foundation is guided by a group of volunteer trustees -- all community members dedicated to educational enhancement and enrichment within the R-H community. .
